This is the single worst interview I’ve ever heard a sitting Governor or US Senator do. It’s over for this guy politically, period. This story doesn’t even contain some of the quotes aired in audio form on MSNBC last night, which are even more embarrassing and contradictory to his other public statements. He needs mental health assistance, pronto.  To realize that millions of dollars of corporate money were lining up behind him for a Presidential bid, as he flew around North and South America incognito “paying with cash,” and having a midlife crisis, is frightening.

Al Franken wins in the Minnesota Supreme Court, the decision was unanimous. This weekend, Governor Pawlenty said that it would be a dereliction of his duty not to certify Franken and follow the order of the Supreme Court, if Franken were to win. He has.

When will this Iraqi have a name? What would he of thought of today’s “National Sovereignty Day?” What about the death of Habibullah due to “enhanced interrogation”? When will Obama stop trying to block the release of this innocent and US-tortured kid from prison?

I’d just like to point out that there were plenty of people in this country one year ago who thought this day would “never” happen, to the point of even speculating that Bush and Cheney would refuse to leave office in order to keep the troops in place. The plan to withdraw has overwhelming bipartisan support among the population, although I guarantee that the cable news broadcasts today will do their utmost to give a different impression. Four American soldiers were killed hours before their unit’s scheduled withdrawal from Baghdad. How can you ask someone to be the last person to die for a mistake?

Even on the things that aren’t political or important.  To a certain extent, this is true of all of the 24-hour news channels, with so much time to fill they fall into patterns of speculation.  However, it’s uniquely in the Fox “News” culture of constant reference to their own previous statements exclusively (or those of the Republican Party or Republican politicians) that something of this degree can occur. Other news outlets are quite guilty of referring to each other’s inaccurate reports (and rumors on the internet) in order to keep an interesting angle alive, but only Fox is in the business of creating their own alternate reality day by day, stubbornly determined to ignore what others are reporting, which allows things to get to an absurd level really quickly.  So what if he was never hit on the head? It’s more entertaining to say that he did, and therefore that is all Fox’s “news editors” needed to know. The viewers watch for reasons of wanting to be entertained and to have their own narrow views reinforced regardless of the facts, so there will be no moment of accountability. Hey kids, try this experiment: Wait a few days, and then ask a few random people you know what caused the TV personality’s death. Then, see if the purported cause they respond with correlates to their political views.

UPDATE: Another Fox “News” outlet proclaims 12 people have committed suicide in reaction to Michael Jackson’s death. Good to see they learned their lesson from the Mays fiasco, huh?

By Sally Kern. The rhetoric she is using comes from a specific source, and that source is exactly the same mentality that justifies right-wing violence against innocent people. Kern encourages and wants violence in this state, in my opinion, and won’t be satisfied until she sees it happen.

Obama does the right thing and is trying to restore the President. This Obama’s first real foreign policy crisis of his Presidency and It’s encouraging so far to see him doing the right thing.

Sanford has obviously not regained any semblance of mental health since the day he stole a truck and abandoned it at the Columbia, South Carolina airport.
